Glycation - heart disease and cancer

some videos on how glycation works (50kzone: Glycation - Wikipedia)

Definition of Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs) and the consequences of AGE accumulation.

Elevated blood glucose causes Glycation/Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs) through two distinctive pathways: the Maillard reaction/glycation and the oxidative pathway.

Effects of Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs). AGEs play a key role in the development of chronic age related diseases such as diabetes, renal failure, atherosclerosis and Alzheimer's disease. In particular AGEs are involved in the development of the cardiovascular complications of diabetes and renal failure.
